Meet Dr. Cerimele
Dr. Cerimele is a lifelong Mahoning Valley resident and alumnus of Ursuline High School. He graduated from Youngstown State University (YSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and then went on to earn his Master’s in Biology from YSU as well. He attended Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, OH for his Doctor of Osteopathy Degree. Dr. Cerimele holds board certifications in both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as with The American Board of Sports Medicine.
In 1995, Dr. Cerimele, along with Dr. Joseph DiDomenico and Dr. John Dunne, founded Ohio Sports & Spine Institute located in Boardman. Ohio Sports & Spine Institute is a multidisciplinary practice providing chiropractic, physical and occupational therapies, athletic training, and much more.
Dr. Cerimele served on the faculty at YSU in the College of Applied Science and Technology in the Allied Health Department for Emergency Medical Technology from 1980 – 1982. He completed the Paramedic Program offered at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH. He was a Medical Technician/Paramedic for Advanced Gold Cross Ambulance in Youngstown from 1976 – 1982.
Dr. Cerimele has been actively involved with the American Heart Association in Youngstown for over five decades. He was an instructor from 1976 – 1982. Beginning in 1979, he was named a provider of Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and, in 1980, he was named an instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He continues those appointments to this day.
In 1988, he served as the Team Physician for Eastlake North High School in Eastlake, OH and was a Sports Physician at Ohio Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in Cleveland, OH from 1988 – 1990.
From 1990 – 1999, Dr. Cerimele served as the Director of Sports Medicine and Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital. He served as Medical Director at Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in Warren, OH from 2012 – 2017.

Dr. Cerimele also performs and interprets electromyogram nerve studies, or EMG Testing, at Ohio Sports & Spine Institute. EMG Testing assesses the health of a patients’ nerves and muscles.
