Please bring a government-issued ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.) and your insurance card if you have one. Most importantly, bring any medical records that document your qualifying condition, such as imaging reports, lab results, previous diagnoses, or treatment notes from your healthcare provider.

Yes. All patient information is strictly protected under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and state medical privacy laws. Your medical records and the fact that you received a medical marijuana recommendation are completely confidential.

The physician recommendation is completed as soon the physician enters your required  information. You will then receive an email from the State of Ohio Pharmacy Board with an instruction on activating your medical marijuana card, usually the same day.

No. A Certificate to Recommend gives you the option to use medical marijuana, but you’re not required to. Some patients receive approval and decide not to use it after doing additional research or exploring other treatment options. The decision is entirely yours.

This varies depending on your specific medications and medical situation. During your evaluation, Dr. Dunne will review all your current medications and discuss potential interactions. He may recommend adjusting dosages or stopping certain medications before starting medical marijuana. Never change your medications without discussing it with Dr. Dunne or your primary care physician.
