Check-In and Medical History Review

Time commitment: 10-15 minutes

Complete intake form with your medical history, current medications, and previous treatments. Bring government-issued ID and any medical records documenting your condition.

Comprehensive Review and Medical Evaluation

Time commitment: 20-25 minutes

Dr. Dunne reviews your records, asks about your symptoms and how they affect daily life, discusses previous treatments, and explains potential side effects and interactions.

 

Recommendation and Next Steps (If Qualified)

Time commitment: 5 minutes

Dr. Dunne determines if you meet Ohio’s requirements and if medical marijuana is medically appropriate for your specific situation. If qualified, you will receive your medical marijuana card the same day.

 
 

Access to State Licensed Dispensaries

Time commitment: 5 minutes

Once you received your medical marijuana card, you can access any state-licensed dispensary. Please note that there are quantity limitations within a duration of time (usually a 30 day period)

Yes. All patient information is strictly protected under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and state medical privacy laws. Your medical records and the fact that you received a medical marijuana recommendation are completely confidential.

The physician recommendation is completed as soon the physician enters your required  information. You will then receive an email from the State of Ohio Pharmacy Board with an instruction on activating your medical marijuana card, usually the same day.

No. A Certificate to Recommend gives you the option to use medical marijuana, but you’re not required to. Some patients receive approval and decide not to use it after doing additional research or exploring other treatment options. The decision is entirely yours.

This varies depending on your specific medications and medical situation. During your evaluation, Dr. Dunne will review all your current medications and discuss potential interactions. He may recommend adjusting dosages or stopping certain medications before starting medical marijuana. Never change your medications without discussing it with Dr. Dunne or your primary care physician.
