Meet Dr. Dunne

Dr. John L. Dunne graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Dunne earned his medical degree at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, Des Moines, Iowa. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and received his Occupational Medicine training at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Dunne specializes in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of workplace injuries and illnesses. He has practiced occupational medicine for over 30 years, both institutional based and outpatient clinics. 

In 1995, Dr. Dunne, along with Dr. Joseph Cerimele and Dr. Joseph DiDomenico, founded Ohio Sports & Spine Institute located in Boardman. Ohio Sports & Spine now serves patients at three locations having added offices in East Liverpool and Howland. 

Dr. Dunne has served on the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Healthcare Quality Assurance Panel as a representative of the Ohio Osteopathic Association. 

Dr. Dunne is a medical examiner for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Disability Evaluators Panel and a Medical Examiner for the Industrial Commission of Ohio on permanent and total disability claims.

Dr. Dunne is an Independent Medical Examiner providing impairment and disability medical examinations to the Industrial Commission of Ohio, Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Veteran’s Examination Services, Federal Employees’ Compensation Act (FECA), as well as additional employers, third party administrators, managed care organizations and others. 

Dr. Dunne holds a Certificate to Recommend (CTR) Medical Marijuana in Ohio to patients who qualify and can benefit from its use.

Dr. Dunne has served on the Board of Directors of the Youngstown Rotary Club, the Youngstown Symphony Society, and the Butler Museum of American Art as past president.
